Here's a Blurb Just for You!

Nate furrowed his brows, annoyance clear from his expression. “Come on, Lil—”
“No.” She cut him off with a wave of her hand. “I have a brother, a family and more friends than I know what to do with. What I need is a career, and what I’d love is someone to fall in love with. I’m working on the career thing, that’s why I took this job. And don’t worry. I never hoped that ‘the someone to fall in love with’ was you. I just thought we could have some fun.” She ignored the pang in her heart at the untrue words, and then took a deep breath and pushed away from the table. “Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have—”
The heel of her boot caught on the thin metal rung halfway down the tall chair. Lily grabbed for the tabletop with one hand while the other flailed for balance, but the boot-and-rung held firm and she felt her other foot sliding beneath her. And then Nate was there, steadying her, holding her free arm and propping her body up with his own. Lily ignored the rush of heat that followed.
“Yeah, you don’t need to make that kind of impression on the suits or the paparazzi.” He put his arm around her shoulders and started for the bank of elevators behind them. Lily pushed against him. He had the wrong idea. That wasn’t some drunken stumble, it was an accident. Plain and simple. “Stop it, Lil. The last thing your professional reputation needs is a bad rap. Let’s just get you away from the crowd and sobered up a little.”“Nate, sweetie.” Lily put all the ice in her voice she could find and casually traced her fingertips over his jaw. As if the touch meant nothing. As if she felt nothing.
That overwhelming urge to kiss him and then smack him was back. She didn’t need rescuing. Not from a too-high heel and a badly placed chair rung. If she were a woo-hoo girl, she’d use him. Use the silly misstep, play up being drunk and turn into a vamp once they were alone.
Lily couldn’t—no, she wouldn’t—do that. She wanted Nate, but more than that, she wanted him to admit he wanted her. Just as badly.
“I’m not drunk. Not even a little bit.”
          “I’ve seen enough—”
She cut him off. “I tripped over the stupid chair rung and slid on the tiles. You can take off that imaginary white hat and put away the brother card. I’m not one of the woo-hoo girls who have to get drunk to get a guy. I’m going to dance.”
She pulled away from him, smiling on the inside at his annoyed expression. His clenched fists. Lily grabbed the first guy she could find, a soundman who worked in the staging area, interviewing contestants before and after their performances. He was the kind of guy she should want.
Straightforward. Not tied up in celebrity. The kind of guy who knew what he wanted and went after it. They slid into a mid-tempo dance when the DJ changed discs. The soundman was nice enough. Her chin rested against his shoulder, which was unfortunate because her view of the dance floor, or rather her view of one corner of the floor, was unobstructed. The man she danced with should make her tummy go all fluttery, but instead it was Nate, standing across the room and watching, who kept her attention. Her palms grew sweaty from the look on his face, not from the feel of another man’s arms around her.
He crossed his arms over his chest, the spinning red, green and blue lights catching on the eagle tattooed over one forearm.
The soundman twirled her around the dance floor until the next song started, a bass-heavy dance mix that brought more and more crew members to the dance floor. Lily danced her way across the floor, playing up to the music, but her attention never left the corner where Nate still watched.
Would he do something? Anything? She didn’t expect him to stalk across the floor and rip her out of her dance partner’s arms, but he wasn’t interested in her, so why not let her find someone who was?
Maybe she wasn’t so different from the woo-hoo girls, after all. Because she knew in her heart that every bump-and-grind move was for his benefit. Nate could play dumb all he wanted, but that night wasn’t just one of those things. Things had been tense between them for a long time before that limo ride.
She’d been dead sober, and while still annoyed at the paparazzi line, she wasn’t so far gone that she needed a one-night stand to get over the upset. And Nate…kissing her hadn’t been about coming to her rescue on the red carpet or being a friend. It couldn’t have been.
That kiss was need and deep wanting for the ten or so seconds it lasted.

About the Author:

Once upon a time, Kristina Knight spent her days running from car crash to fire to meetings with
local police--no, she wasn't a troublemaker, she was a journalist. Her career took her all over the United States, writing about everything from a serial killer's capture to the National Finals Rodeo. Along the way she found her very own Knight in Shining Cowboy Boots and an abiding love for romance novels. Kristina writes contemporary romance with a smattering of sass, sex and (of course) drama, and she loves hearing from readers. And just like the characters from her favorite books, she's living her own happily ever after.

About The Book:
Lily MacIntyre needs to shed her sitcom teen-queen image if she's going to carve out a real career in Hollywood. A tabloid-worthy fling with rocker Nate Lansford--her childhood friend and new cohost of a reality talent show--should do it. As long as she can accept that the notorious player will be moving on to the next eager conquest when the season wraps.

Long before Nate's hard-hearted image took hold, he and Lily were each other's protectors and allies. No one knows him the way she does--and he doesn't want his messed-up past to muddy up her potential. For once, the bad boy is trying to be good. Not easy when the good girl is getting wicked with him in the back of his limo and every white-hot kiss proves they can never be "just friends" again…

I have some wonderful news for those of you who have stuck with me over the last year. Edits have begun on Drifting Sands! I am so excited. There is much to be done and I will update you as things move along. Also there is going to be a second book in the series and possibly a third!! So stay tuned for more information in the coming months.2015 is looking up to be a great year for this author!

Hope you are all enjoying the autumn weather wherever you are in the world. For me that means sunny days with blue skies and cool evenings with the sounds of crickets. This is my absolute favorite time of the year. Sweaters come out of hiding and jeans feel their most comfortable right now. I only have one regret this year. Due to job constraints and now editing deadlines (those I put on myself), we aren't going to be able to get away to the mountains. But that's okay! If all goes well I'll be traveling the east coast on my way to visit my parents in Florida, in late January or early February, With a little side trip planned for Beaufort, North Carolina. Which just happens to be where Drifting Sands takes place!

Get out and enjoy the weather before the winter blows it's way in.

I am so excited to bring you Taylin Clavelli's latest release
Dakota Skies

Born in the wrong time...

In 1875 Dakota, Sheriff Jamie Carter has to hide his interest in men, even from his gutsy twin sister, Anna. On a good day, the truth can mean a bullet between the eyes, and on a bad, one in the back.

A man on a mission...

Jamie leaves Anna in charge of Blackrock and he hits the bounty hunting trail, along with his faithful equine companion, Houston. Five territories, scores of ‘Wanted’ posters, and many bullets later, his path unexpectedly converges with that of enigmatic loner, Kit Brooks
.
Two men with one soul...

Will the smoldering fire between them rage into an inferno and break down protective barriers, allowing them to find love? Or will it separate and kill them?

Beneath Dakota skies...

Jamie and Kit’s story is a sweeping saga of cowboys, Indians, persistent broads, and vengeful villains, where the cowboys aren’t always the good guys, and love can’t be taken for granted.

Here's an excerpt to enjoy:

In a subdued tone, Jay related what a long, tough journey it had been from Texas to Dakota for a boy of nine. Many didn’t make it, dying from disease, bandit attack, or exhaustion. It was a far cry from the life they were used to. On the road, a man kept his money in his boots, and protected it with a gun. No, it sure as hell wasn’t a pleasant trip filled with singing and laughter. Though there was some.
Days would go by with no sunshine or bird song. At times, they got soaked to the skin. The schooner’s offered good cover but the rain sometimes made it under the canvas. It would take an age to dry out and get warm. At least, during those times, they didn’t get eaten by bugs. The wagons weren’t comfortable either. Every stone could be felt and sometimes it was easier to walk.
Jay recalled how, part way through Kansas, he’d gone down with a fever. He didn’t remember much about it. But he knew he scared the shit out of his family for a while, having them convinced they’d be burying him. Thankfully for all concerned, he battled through it.
He didn’t go into much detail, seeing how his aunt and uncle already wore expressions of sadness and concern. Instead, he scrunched his face in remembrance of the foul-smelling brew Ma Carter concocted. It frightened off any living thing that dared to venture in the direction of their wagon. Jay’s mama also became a stickler for cleanliness, even boiling all drinking water, insisting she wasn’t gonna feed her family anything that could have things still living in it. The habit stuck with them all.
Jay followed on with life at journey’s end, which wasn’t as dour as it probably seemed. It was just very different to what they’d been used to in Texas.
Once settled in Dakota, Ma Carter soon whipped family and housing into shape. She was a woman of action, and though some tasks weren’t exactly nice, she’d happily do anything in support of her husband and children. While her husband worked the claim, Ma Carter did everything else, including kicking her children’s asses when they got out of line.
Ma Carter didn’t let her children’s education slip, either. Having been pulled from school in Texas, she took care of lessons, both on the trail and when they reached Dakota. On top of that, her children had to do their chores.
A few claims, including the Carters’, were successful—good enough for the family to be comfortable. However, the words ‘gold’ and ‘trouble’ were like squabbling sisters sharing the same room. Spats between neighbors were commonplace. After a while, Pa Carter noticed regular, more organized violence, creeping in like an ugly, festering mold.
The town needed an effective sheriff, before crime got out of hand. After a meeting, John answered the call of the starred badge.

Artist's Touch by Kerry Adrienne

I just wanted to give a shout out to this book I discovered last week. I've never read anything by Kerry Adrienne before but I loved this book. And I will admit that I bought the book based solely on the fact the cover model reminds me of Adam Lambert. There's just something about the eyes that grab you. Thank goodness, it was a fabulous read as well.

In the Artist's Touch, you will find two very different main characters. One with an agenda for everything he does. Kenon the much sought after artist, who paints portraits that no longer bring him joy. He's a tortured soul denying that real love exists in the world.

The other is a gentle soul looking for an outlet for his creativity. Wally struggles to stay afloat tending bar and picking up the odd job here and there. What he really wants to do is write and write something meaningful.

The story stretches both men to grow and change and develop into the men they are destined to be. Along the way, they slip and they fall, the push away and the come together and the reader is left hoping that they find what the each need in the other.

There is a second book in what looks to be a series and I highly anticipate reading it as well.
