I know! I know! Here I am again so quickly. But I got something in the mail today that I just had to share with you all.

Never mind the old lady...see the book she's holding, that's the paperback copy of the Authors off the Shelf by Lazy Beagle Entertainment that my story "A Buggy Ride for Christmas" is in. This book is huge! I had no idea it was going to be so beautiful. It's chocked full of stories from authors you can find on the Lazy Beagle Entertainment website. All proceeds from the sale of this book are being divided between four very worthy causes. You'll also find a story from the amazing Charlie Cochrane in this book.

And here is the other story, I recently read and just fell in love with:

http://www.amazon.com/Snow-Minnesota-Christmas-Heidi-Cullinan-ebook/dp/B00E8FOLUI/ref=sr_1_2?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1390266184&sr=1-2&keywords=heidi+cullinan+kindle

I have to tell you that I have read a lot of gay romances over the last few years but not one has touched my heart the way this story did. Frankie is the sweetest, cutest character I have ever read. He knows who he is and exactly how other people perceive him. He thinks he knows his weaknesses and his strengths but he's so wrong. He's much stronger than he has ever given him credit for. When he meets Marcus, under not ideal circumstances, they clash immediately but not for the reasons that Frankie thinks. Marcus is struck by how much Frankie looks and acts like his ex who hurt him deeply. The last thing he wants to do is get involved with another guy like that or any guy for that matter. Marcus has deep insecurities that a big bear of a man can hide from the world but he can't hide them from the man who steels his heart.

There is a blizzard, two room mates who enjoy kinky BSMD sex even with strangers in their house, three big bear sized men who just happened to be loggers, a flaming hair dresser from the big city and enough romance to make you sizzle. If I gave ratings, I'd give this one a flaming 4 for the antics of Paul and Arthur in the attic bedroom and the heat under the blankets when Marcus and Frankie finally get together.

Don't miss this one. It really is a wonderful read.
Time to promote two books that I read over the long weekend. Don't you just love long weekends?! I know I do. First off my dear friend Charlie Cochrane has new book out Awfully Glad. You can find it here:

http://www.amazon.com/Awfully-Glad-Charlie-Cochrane-ebook/dp/B00HTRKAH0/ref=sr_1_8?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1390265616&sr=1-8&keywords=charlie+cochrane

This time the war is over and life is getting back to normal for some who returned from the trenches. But for those men who have a certain liking for others of their own kind, life is still hard. Hiding behind closed doors, always keeping your guard up and watching out for blackmailers. Sam Hines is hiding his past and his desires and when Johnny Browne suddenly turns up in his office, Sam wonders if he's going to pay the price for a love that dare not speak its name.

Another wonderful story from Charlie to warm your heart on a cold winter evening.

A New Year...New stories to write. Today I have a little sneak peak at a possible paranormal story I have been working on. Remember it's just a little bit. I just wanted to see what you all thought I'd love to hear from you. Friend me on Facebook, send me a Tweet, or you can even reach me at cjbaty27@gmail.com.

Here's the sample:

Prologue

Every culture, every civilization has myths or stories about Ancient Ones. Some sort of being that has existed since the beginning of time. Humans have no real knowledge of these beings but they make up the stories that we have come to know.

Aliens from another time or planet, soulless creatures without a physical form, or even the boogie men who creep out at night to frighten children and adults; all of these are examples of what the human mind has made up to explain something it can’t explain.

But what if it were true? What if there were some ancient being that existed since the dawn of time and had no physical body to walk among us? Existing in constant darkness, void of the five senses that humans had but never appreciated? What if they had no emotions and after the millennia that they have existed they had lost all sense of right and wrong? What if they fed off those emotions that humans had…good or bad? What if they could make bargains with those humans who found a way into the darkness where they existed? What if they had learned to control those humans foolish enough to step into the eternal night where they existed? What if…

Also today I want to wish my mom a very Happy 80th Birthday! Love you mom, wish we could celebrate together.

Happy New Year! I am looking forward to sharing some new and exciting things with all of you in 2014. I'm hoping to do a little changing and sprucing up of the blog and I also want to continue to bring you reviews on books old and new that I run across that you may find interesting. Also, in 2014, we should finally see Drifting Sands becoming available. I am so looking forward to getting this new book available to you all. So today I have included a small teaser from Drifting Sands for all of you to enjoy.

Ian McAlister toed the sand on the beach and fingered the note in his pocket. He had not heard from Justin Warfield in years. Ian had thought at one time, they would be together forever. Justin let his father put an end to that. They had separated friends but Justin had made no effort to stay in contact. He pulled the note from his pocket and looked at it for the hundredth time in the last week.
“Ian, I need your help. Please. Come to the Warfield and meet me on the beach at ten pm on Friday evening. There’s a spot on the north end of the beach just between the public beaches and the private beach of the Warfield. There’s a sign, meet me there. Don’t tell anyone. Please Ian, I need you. Justin.”
Ian heard the sound of footsteps and turned toward the sound. Surprise crossed his face as he realized who was now standing in front of him. Where was Justin?
“What are you doing here?” Ian asked but there was no answer.

He saw the gun too late. A sharp pain seared through his chest before blackness took him under.

There you have it! Let me know what you think.
